POSITION: Certified Instructor

Certified Instructors perform an important role within our local WSTA Training Centres;

When a member reaches the rank of Black Belt it does NOT enable them to automatically teach the art.

A member of any senior rank needs to show the required skills and aptitude before they qualify for WSTA Instructor Certification. Once certified they must be willing to accept some responsibility within their local Branch, this is seen as the next step in the member’s ongoing development as an instructor and future leader within the organisation.

On occasion the Certified Instructor will be required to help their Branch Instructor with various duties such as assisting a member with patterns or holding the kick/strike shield etc during the normal course of class operation, this is an important and necessary part of the member’s ongoing training, martial art and leadership development.

Each Class will have at least one Certified Instructor. Strict requirements ensure that Certified Instructors (of any rank) are well educated in all aspects of Branch management and can confidently take the Branch Instructors place during his/her absence.

Certified Instructors are regular with their attendance so as to assist and support their Branch Instructor with regular class activities, this is an important and necessary part of the learning process.
Certified Instructors are viewed by our members as responsible and professional individuals who are dedicated to the success of all WSTA students.

Thanks to the WSTA’s professional approach and the high expectations placed on the Certified Instructors, many of them grow not just as martial artists but also as important and respected members within their local community.

WSTA Instructor Certification prepares the member for a future beyond the class. Many Certified Instructors go on to establish their own WSTA Training centre and lead the way for the next generation of Shim Jang Taekwondo martial artists.
